Question 1

What is a disposable email?

Accepted Answer

An address from a throwaway inbox service (10-minute mail and similar). Multi-account farms use them to open many accounts without real inboxes. CashoutGuard checks the domain against a list of disposable providers that is refreshed every day.

Question 2

Why do Gmail dots and plus aliases matter?

Accepted Answer

john.doe@gmail.com, johndoe@gmail.com and john.doe+2@gmail.com all land in the same inbox. One person can open dozens of "different" accounts that way. The checker shows the address all of them really point to.

Question 3

Does it send an email to the address?

Accepted Answer

No. It only checks the domain and its mail servers (MX records). The address itself is not stored.

Question 4

Is there an API?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send the email with every signup to /v1/evaluate and CashoutGuard flags disposable domains and links accounts that share the same normalized address, together with device and network signals.
